Term: May 2009 to May 2011

Process Requirements:

  1. Receive Nomination Paper Packet from the School Office
  2. Completion of the “Criminal History” Forms Prior to Receiving Packet
  3. Completion of the “Contact Sheet” (with Social Security Number)

Documents Required:

  1. Tribal Membership Validation Document
  2. Recent Picture for the Biographical Data Form (The Picture will not be returned)
  3. Completed “Nomination Papers”

NOMINATION and ELECTION TIMELINE:

  • April 6 - Nomination papers and other documents made available at the School Office.
  • April 24 at 4 p.m. - Deadline for receipt of the Required Documents in the School Office.
  • April 7 to June 16 - “Biographical Data” forms posted in the School Office, Weekly ICS Report and ICS website.
  • May 14 at 6:00 p.m. - Candidate Forum in the Community Room of the Indian Community School
  • May 11 - Mail the Ballots.
  • May 22 - Deadline date for valid ballots to be postmarked.
  • May 27 - Vote totals tallied by the independent third party.
  • May 29 - Election results posted at the School and on the ICS website.
  • May 29 - If required, mail run-off election ballots.
  • June 5 - If a run-off election is not required, the election results sent home in the ICS Weekly Report.
  • June 5 - If required, deadline date for valid run-off election ballots to be postmarked.
  • June 10 - If required, run-off vote totals tallied by an independent third party.
  • June 12 - Election Results posted at the School and on the ICS website.
  • To Be Announced - The date and procedures for any additional run-off election.
